Puppy Sensory Workshop

Next Class: July 27th | 9am

Did you know that a puppy’s startle reflex becomes active around 12 to 14 weeks old? This developmental milestone is a crucial time for your furry friend. By introducing your young puppy to a variety of novel items and experiences, we can help them learn to adapt and grow in a safe and positive environment.

In this workshop, we will cover important concepts like habituation and one-trial learning. Habituation is the process by which your puppy becomes accustomed to new stimuli, reducing their fear and anxiety over time. One-trial learning, on the other hand, is when a single exposure to a new experience leaves a lasting impression, making it essential to ensure these experiences are positive.

Our expert trainers will guide you through practical exercises and techniques to help your puppy navigate this important phase of their development. You’ll learn how to safely introduce your pup to new sights, sounds, and textures, fostering their confidence and curiosity.

If your puppy is older than 14 weeks, don’t worry—habituation is still very effective! We’ll provide tailored strategies to help older puppies acclimate to new experiences and reduce their sensitivity to startling stimuli. This workshop is designed to benefit puppies at various stages, ensuring every pup can develop into a well-adjusted and happy companion.

Join us for a fun and educational session that will set your puppy on the path to becoming a confident and well-rounded dog. We look forward to seeing you and your pup there! 🐶
